Alonso Sees Bright Future Despite Qualifying Struggles at Melbourne

Following a challenging qualifying session that left him starting from 17th position at the Australian Grand Prix, Fernando Alonso has expressed confidence in Aston Martin's prospects, insisting the team's machinery harbors considerable promise.

Despite the underwhelming grid placement, Alonso remains upbeat about the potential locked within the Aston Martin package. The veteran driver's assessment indicates that while current performance hasn't translated into a strong qualifying position at Melbourne, he believes the car possesses the foundation for meaningful progress as the 2026 season develops.

Such optimism from Alonso—a driver with vast experience across multiple competitive teams—suggests the Aston Martin project retains genuine competitive aspirations despite early-season setbacks in Australia.
