Article 28
Front Wing Sensor Reference Volume (RV-FW-SENSOR)
Chapter: C
In Simple Terms
The front wing sensor reference volume is a designated 3D space where F1 teams are allowed to mount sensors on their front wings. It's essentially a rectangular box measuring 60cm long, 15cm wide, and 50cm tall, plus a cylindrical area in the center, all positioned at the very front of the car.
- Sensors must fit within a specific cuboid space (60×15×50mm) on the front wing
- An additional cylindrical sensor zone (30mm diameter) is permitted in the center of this volume
- This regulation ensures standardized sensor placement across all teams for fair data collection
- Violations of this boundary result in technical penalties or car exclusion
Official FIA Text
