Article 35
Forward Intrusion Laminate Reference Surface (RS-INTSN-LAM-FWD)
Chapter: C
In Simple Terms
This rule defines a specific reference surface on the front of the car that's used to check if aerodynamic elements stick out too far forward. Think of it as an invisible boundary line that runs across the width of the car – aerodynamic parts can't breach this line.
- Establishes a forward boundary surface for the car's front end aerodynamics
- The reference surface is defined by two profile lines measured at the car's centerline (Y=0)
- This surface extends across the full width of the car (500mm in the Y direction)
- Used as a measurement template to ensure front wings and other aero elements comply with size regulations
Official FIA Text
