Auxiliary Components (Oil system, reverse gear etc.)
Chapter: C9.5
In Simple Terms
Auxiliary Components are the supporting systems that help the gearbox work properly. These include things like oil pumps that keep everything lubricated, the oil tank that stores it, the reverse gear mechanism, and cooling systems. They're not part of the main gearbox itself, but they're essential for it to function.
- Includes oil system components: pumps, filters, tanks, and coolers that keep the gearbox lubricated and cool
- Contains the reverse gear idler and actuator system that enables the car to go backwards
- Features the differential actuator that helps distribute power between the wheels
- Covers local electrical and electronic components that control and monitor these auxiliary systems
