Rear Suspension Members

Chapter: C10.3

In Simple Terms

Rear suspension members are all the mechanical parts that connect the rear wheel assembly (upright) to the gearbox and engine. This includes the wishbones, rods, bearings, and brackets that allow the rear suspension to move and absorb bumps while keeping the wheel in the right position.

  • Includes structural components like wishbones, links, and push/pull rods that connect the wheel to the gearbox
  • Covers inboard brackets and bearings that aren't integrated into the gearbox carrier itself
  • Encompasses suspension fairings, fasteners, wheel tethers, and electrical/electronic components in the rear suspension system
  • These components are critical for suspension geometry, performance, and safety
