Rear brake control system (BBW)

This rule covers the rear brake system in F1 cars, specifically the electronic brake-by-wire (BBW) technology that allows drivers to control rear braking electronically. It defines what components make up this system, including the master cylinder, electronic valves, and all the pipes and hoses that connect them together.

• BBW systems use electronic actuators and solenoid valves instead of purely mechanical brake controls
• All electrical and electronic components must be mounted directly on or near the master cylinder
• The system includes the balance bar assembly, which distributes braking force between front and rear wheels
• All hoses and pipes connecting the system are regulated as part of the approved configuration
