Article 6F
Fuel tank pressure sensor and PRV
Chapter: C6.1.4 C6.6.4
In Simple Terms
This regulation specifies the technical requirements for two critical safety components in an F1 car's fuel system: a pressure sensor that monitors fuel tank conditions and a Pressure Relief Valve (PRV) that prevents dangerous over-pressurization. Both components must be properly connected to the fuel bladder and positioned exactly as shown in the official diagrams.
- The fuel tank must have a pressure sensor to monitor internal pressure conditions in real-time
- A Pressure Relief Valve (PRV) is mandatory to safely release excess pressure and prevent fuel tank rupture
- Both the sensor and PRV must be connected directly to the fuel bladder with approved fittings
- Precise positioning and installation must match the specifications shown in diagram 6.6.4
