Article B1.10.3
Penalties for Incident during LTCS
Chapter: B1
In Simple Terms
If a driver causes an incident during practice sessions or qualifying, the stewards can punish them by deleting their lap times or moving them back on the grid. Most incidents are reviewed after the session ends, unless it's obviously wrong, and any grid penalties get applied to the next race or sprint qualifying.
- Stewards can delete lap time(s) or apply grid position drops as penalties
- Investigations typically happen after the session concludes unless the infringement is completely obvious
- Grid penalties are served in the next Race or Sprint Qualifying session if the incident occurred during qualifying
- This rule applies to incidents during LTCS (Like-to-Check Sessions), which includes practice and qualifying
