Penalties for Incident during TTCS

Chapter: B1

In Simple Terms

If a driver causes an incident during the tire tire change session (TTCS), stewards can hand out various penalties ranging from small time additions to race disqualifications. If a driver gets 5 reprimands, they automatically get a 10-grid position penalty.

  • Stewards have multiple penalty options available, from minor time penalties to major consequences like disqualification
  • Penalties can be applied during the race (5/10-second, drive-through, stop-and-go) or before the race (grid drops)
  • Accumulating 5 reprimands automatically triggers a 10-grid position penalty
  • Teams can also receive penalties and reprimands, not just individual drivers
