Order of Cars Behind the SC
Chapter: B5
In Simple Terms
When the Safety Car's green light turns on, it tells the drivers who are stuck between the Safety Car and the race leader that they must pass the Safety Car and rejoin the race. This allows lapped cars to get back into the proper racing order.
- The green light on the Safety Car is a signal from the Race Director
- Only cars between the Safety Car and the leader are required to pass
- Drivers must obey this instruction to rejoin the race properly
- This typically happens when the track is being cleared and racing is about to resume
