Pit Lane Starter Order

Chapter: B5

In Simple Terms

When multiple cars start from the pit lane, they must line up in the order determined by the official starting grid positions (either for the Sprint or the Race). However, if a car doesn't reach the pit lane exit by the 5-minute warning signal, it must start behind all the cars that are already positioned at the pit exit.

  • Multiple pit lane starters must follow the official grid order from Article B2.3.4 (Sprint) or B2.5.4 (Race)
  • Cars reaching pit lane exit after the 5-minute signal are automatically placed behind cars already at the exit
  • This rule prevents strategic advantages from delayed pit lane positioning
