Pit Lane Starters Procedure at Formation Lap End

In Simple Terms

Cars that start from the pit lane must return to the pit lane at a steady speed with constant throttle after the formation lap(s). They then line up in the fast lane in the order they arrived, with their engines still running, ready to start the race.

  • Pit lane starters must maintain constant speed and constant throttle when returning to pit lane
  • Cars must stop in the fast lane in order of arrival
  • Engines must remain running while lined up in the fast lane
  • This procedure occurs at the end of the formation lap(s) before the race start

When cars required to start from Pit Lane return to Pit Lane at end of formation lap(s), they must proceed to pit exit at constant speed and constant throttle and stop in line in Fast Lane in order of arrival, keeping engines running.
