Article C10.3.3
Suspension Members - Shared Attachment Points
Chapter: C10
In Simple Terms
If a suspension part has multiple attachment points (where it connects to the car), the FIA will imagine cutting it into separate pieces to check if each part follows the rules individually. This prevents teams from sneakily combining parts to get around regulations.
- Suspension members with shared attachment points are analyzed as if they were separate, discrete components
- This rule prevents teams from circumventing regulations by using multi-functional suspension parts
- The FIA uses 'virtual dissection' to inspect whether each functional section complies with technical rules
- Applies to any suspension element that connects to the car at multiple points
Official FIA Text
