Article C10.7.2
Wheel Rim Design
Chapter: C10
In Simple Terms
Teams can modify wheel rims in specific areas: near the center for tire valve and sensor equipment, and on the outer edge for team branding. However, they cannot create passages that allow air to flow between different sections of the rim.
- Modifications allowed within 80mm from the wheel's central axis for technical components like inflation valves and TPMS sensors
- Branding modifications permitted on outer flanges between 238-246mm radius from center
- Strictly prohibited from creating air passages between rim cavities to maintain structural integrity
Official FIA Text
Wheel rim surface may be added or removed in areas less than 80mm from axis YW, for mounting inflation valve and TPMS sensors, and on outer flanges between 238-246mm radius for branding. No passage for air between rim cavities permitted.
