In Simple Terms
F1 cars must have a ring-shaped disc on the outside of each wheel that fits snugly around the wheel rim (within 2mm). This disc can only be made from specific approved materials to ensure safety and standardization across all teams.
- An annular (ring-shaped) disc is mandatory on all four wheels
- The disc must fit within 2mm tolerance of the specified rim dimensions for front (RS-F-RIM-DISC) and rear (RS-R-RIM-DISC) wheels
- Only materials approved in Articles C15.2.3 or C15.2.4 are permitted for the outboard disc

An annular disc must be fitted to all wheels. Disc must enclose RS-F-RIM-DISC (front) or RS-R-RIM-DISC (rear) to within 2mm radially. Outboard disc may only be made from materials in Articles C15.2.3 or C15.2.4.
