In Simple Terms
During qualifying and races, teams can only use compressed air, nitrogen, or electricity to power their wheel-changing equipment. Any sensors used must be passive (just monitoring) and cannot actively control or assist the wheel-changing process.
- Wheel fastener devices must be powered by compressed air, nitrogen, or electricity only
- Sensor systems are allowed but can only passively monitor - they cannot actively assist in fitting or removing wheels
- This rule applies during both qualifying sessions and race events
- Ensures fair and standardized pit stop equipment across all teams
