Article C12.5.5
Position of the Pedals
Chapter: C12
In Simple Terms
F1 teams must position their pedals within specific limits on the car. The frontmost pedal when not being used cannot stick out further forward than 315mm, and the brake pedal must be mountable as far forward as -1515mm. These measurements ensure consistent pedal placement across all cars.
- The foremost pedal in its resting position has a maximum forward position of 315mm (X A coordinate)
- The brake pedal must be able to be mounted at a minimum forward position of -1515mm (X C coordinate)
- These measurements control the longitudinal positioning of pedals on the car's chassis
- Compliance ensures fair and standardized driver ergonomics across all F1 teams
Official FIA Text
