In Simple Terms
Each F1 car must have two protective crash structures on both sides of the cockpit area to absorb impact energy during side collisions. These structures must be built to specific FIA standards and attached perpendicular to the car's centerline.
- Two impact absorbing structures required on each side of the Survival Cell
- Structures must be manufactured according to FIA-F1-DOC-C108 specification document
- Must be mounted perpendicular to the Y=0 plane (the car's centerline)
- Structures must be securely bonded to the Survival Cell at specified mounting points

Two impact absorbing structures must be fitted on each side of Survival Cell. Structures manufactured per FIA-F1-DOC-C108. Must be mounted perpendicular to plane Y=0 with specific position requirements and mounting specifications for bonding to Survival Cell.
