In Simple Terms
F1 teams must own and control their own Learning and Technical Control (LTC) systems and data exclusively. However, teams can use general-purpose software tools and components that are commercially available to everyone, as long as these aren't specifically banned LTC components.
- Teams must have exclusive ownership of their LTC rights and associated data
- Third-party commercially available intellectual property tools are allowed if accessible to all teams
- Sub-components that aren't specifically listed as LTC restrictions can be purchased and used
- Teams cannot outsource or share their core LTC systems with competitors
