Standard Supply Components Definition
Chapter: C17
In Simple Terms
Standard Supply Components are parts that the FIA (motorsport's governing body) requires all teams to use. These parts are made by an official supplier and every team gets exactly the same component at the same price and on the same terms—no advantages for any team.
- All F1 teams must use identical parts supplied by an FIA-appointed manufacturer
- The supplier provides components on identical technical specifications to ensure fairness
- Commercial terms (price, payment conditions) are also identical for every team
- This system prevents teams from gaining unfair advantages through parts procurement
