In Simple Terms
Teams must use the SSC (Safety Systems Component) as designed and cannot disable, replace, or work around it with other parts. The only exception is if the FIA specifically approves a different component in very unusual situations.
- SSC usage is mandatory for all cars - no exceptions without FIA approval
- Teams cannot bypass, replace, duplicate, or add complementary components to the SSC
- The FIA retains authority to authorize alternative components only in exceptional circumstances
- Non-compliance with SSC requirements can result in serious penalties
