OSPUC Information Transfer Prohibition

Chapter: C18

In Simple Terms

F1 engine manufacturers are banned from sharing technical information, data, or performance secrets about their power unit with other manufacturers. They also cannot receive such information from competitors. This rule ensures fair competition by preventing manufacturers from gaining unfair advantages through shared knowledge.

  • Engine manufacturers cannot share OSPUC (power unit component) technical information with other teams
  • Information transfer is prohibited in both directions - teams cannot give or receive performance data
  • The ban covers data, know-how, and performance enhancement methods related to power units
  • This rule maintains competitive integrity by preventing backdoor technical advantages between manufacturers
