Front Wing Strake
Chapter: C3
In Simple Terms
The front wing strake is a small aerodynamic device on the front wing that must fit within a specific box-shaped boundary and can have at most two separate sections when viewed from the side or top. This rule ensures all teams use similarly sized strakes and prevents unfair aerodynamic advantages.
- Front wing strakes must fit entirely within a defined 775mm (length) × 20mm (width) × 100mm (height) boundary
- The strake can have a maximum of two distinct sections in any vertical or horizontal plane cross-section
- This regulation controls the size and complexity of front wing aerodynamic devices to maintain competitive balance
- Strakes must conform to the RV-FW-STRAKE specification document for exact positioning and attachment requirements
