In Simple Terms
F1 cars must have drum-shaped bodywork covers on the front and rear wheels built to specific technical specifications. These drums need a continuous seal around the axle to prevent air leaks, and can optionally have a flexible seal where the drum meets the wheel rim.
- Front and rear drum bodywork must conform to exact geometry specifications (RS-FWH-DRUM and RS-RWH-DRUM)
- A circumferential, continuous aerodynamic seal between the drum and axle is mandatory
- An optional flexible seal may be added between the drum and wheel rim for additional sealing

Front and Rear Drum Bodywork must be made to geometry defined by RS-FWH-DRUM and RS-RWH-DRUM. Must be fitted with circumferential, continuous Aerodynamic Seal between Drum and axle. May be fitted with flexible seal between Drum and Wheel Rim.
