In Simple Terms

F1 cars must have front and rear scoops (air intake channels) that fit within specific defined areas and have smooth curves. The aerodynamic surfaces of these scoops must be clearly visible from the inside of the car and have no sharp corners with curves smaller than 20mm.

  • Front and rear scoops must stay within the regulated boundary zones (RV-FWH-SCO and RV-RWH-SCO)
  • Scoop aerodynamic surfaces must be fully visible when viewed from inside the car
  • All curves on scoop surfaces must have a minimum radius of 20mm to prevent sharp edges

Front and Rear Scoop Bodywork must lie within RV-FWH-SCO and RV-RWH-SCO respectively. Scoop Aerodynamic Surfaces must be fully visible from inboard and contain no radius of curvature less than 20mm.
