R-Tyre Sensor Aperture
Chapter: C3
In Simple Terms
Teams must have an opening (aperture) on their car's floor or engine cover to accommodate the tire sensor, which measures tire performance data. This opening can be no larger than 1500mm² and must be completely hidden from underneath the car when the floor panel is installed.
- The tire sensor aperture is limited to a maximum area of 1500mm²
- The aperture must be located on either the floor or engine cover
- The opening must be completely obscured from below when the floor body is in place
- This allows FIA to monitor tire data while maintaining aerodynamic integrity
