In Simple Terms
The sidepod inlet (the air intake opening on the side of the car) has a maximum size of 80,000mm² and must be positioned in a specific location on the sidepod. The inlet can only draw air in, not expel it, and must sit entirely above a certain height threshold on the car.
- Maximum sidepod inlet area is 80,000mm² - teams cannot make larger air intakes
- The inlet must be located within defined coordinate boundaries on the sidepod structure
- Air can only flow inward (influx only) - no air can be expelled through this opening
- The entire inlet must sit above Z=275 height specification - no lower positioning allowed
