Front Wing Endplate Construction

Chapter: C3

In Simple Terms

Front wing endplates must be made from a special anti-splinter laminate material to keep them safe. Any metal parts or fasteners that hold the endplate together must be positioned at least 30mm back from the very front edge, and nothing can be designed in a way that could injure other drivers.

  • Endplates must use PL-ANTISPLINTER laminate material for safety
  • All fasteners and inserts must be at least 30mm away from the leading edge
  • Metal components are allowed but cannot create a hazard to other competitors
  • This rule prevents sharp debris and dangerous protrusions on a critical aerodynamic component
