Article C3.19.4
Bib Construction
Chapter: C3
In Simple Terms
Teams can use flexible materials or thin layers in specific parts of the floor bib (the front wing endplate area) that sits below 150mm in height. This flexibility is allowed specifically to let the floor move slightly when it makes contact with the ground due to the plank assembly, rather than being completely rigid.
- Flexible materials are permitted only in isolated sections of the floor bib, not throughout
- The flexible areas must stay within the defined RV-BIB-STAY and RV-FLOOR-BIB zones
- Flexibility is specifically to accommodate natural ground contact movement from the plank assembly
- The rule applies only to sections below 150mm in height (lower parts of the bib)
