Suspension Fairings

Chapter: C3

In Simple Terms

Teams can only use suspension fairings (aerodynamic covers) that are specifically approved in the rulebook. These fairings are measured and checked against the actual suspension parts they're attached to, not against other reference points.

  • Only approved suspension fairings listed in Article C3.17 are allowed on F1 cars
  • Compliance is assessed using the structural suspension member as the reference point, not the car's overall frame
  • Teams must ensure their fairings match the dimensions and positioning of the suspension components they cover
Official FIA Text

Only permissible Suspension Fairings defined in Article C3.17. To assess compliance with Article C3.2.2, Frame of Reference is the structural suspension member it is attached to.
