Floor Foot

Chapter: C3

In Simple Terms

The floor's outer edges (the 'foot') must stay within allowed boundaries when viewed from above, completely hide a specific reference area underneath, and can only have up to two separate sections at any height level. Think of it as keeping the floor's perimeter neat and structured without creating too many layers.

  • Floor bodywork must remain entirely within the RV-FLOOR-FOOT boundary zone when viewed from directly above
  • The floor must completely obscure the RS-FLOOR-FOOT reference area from above, leaving no gaps
  • Maximum of two separate sections allowed at any single height (Z-plane), preventing overly complex multi-layered designs
Official FIA Text

Floor Foot Bodywork must lie entirely within RV-FLOOR-FOOT, when viewed from above fully obscure RS-FLOOR-FOOT, and have up to two sections in any Z-Plane.
