In Simple Terms
F1 cars must use strong steel bolts (at least M6 size, grade 12.9 or 10.9) to attach the plank and skid blocks to the chassis. Different skid configurations require different numbers of bolts in specific locations, and all bolts must be positioned close together to ensure the plank stays securely attached during the race.
- Fasteners must be M6 minimum size made from high-strength steel (grade 12.9 or 10.9)
- RV-SKID-FWD configuration requires 3 bolts in two forward skids and 2 bolts in the rearmost skid
- RV-SKID configuration requires 2 bolts per skid
- All fastener points must be within 50mm from the centerline to ensure secure attachment

Plank and Skids must be fixed using fasteners no smaller than M6 made from grade 12.9 or 10.9 steel. RV-SKID-FWD requires three fixings in two forwardmost Skids and two in rearmost. RV-SKID requires two fixings per resulting Skid. No part more than 50mm from fastener centerline.
