Article C3.8.4

FIA Source

Rear Bodywork Group

Chapter: C3

In Simple Terms

This rule simply defines what counts as the 'Rear Bodywork' of an F1 car. It's basically saying that once all the individual rear body parts (covered in the previous articles) are assembled together following the regulations, that complete assembly is officially called the Rear Bodywork. Think of it as the final definition after all the construction work is done.

  • Defines the complete rear bodywork as the assembled union of all rear body components
  • Only applies after all individual parts meet the requirements from Articles C3.8.1-C3.8.3
  • Includes all sub-assembly operations that go into building the rear body
  • Establishes the official definition for technical inspection and compliance purposes
Official FIA Text

Once the components defined in Articles C3.8.1 to C3.8.3 have been constructed in accordance with these provisions, including any sub-assembly operations, the resulting union is defined as Rear Bodywork.
