Wastegate and Pop-Off Valve Limits

F1 power units are limited to a maximum of two wastegates and two pop-off valves to control turbo boost pressure. These valves must use simple circular poppet designs that move straight up and down, preventing teams from using more complex or exotic valve systems.

• Maximum of 2 wastegates and 2 pop-off valves per power unit
• Only poppet valves with circular sealing interfaces are permitted
• Valves must use axial (straight-line) displacement only
• Rule prevents competitive advantage through valve design complexity
