Article C5.20.8
ERS-K Phase Conductors Interfaces
Chapter: C5
In Simple Terms
The Energy Recovery System needs special connection points (interfaces) on two components: the ESME (Energy Storage Management Electronics) must have these connection points, while the MGU-K (Motor Generator Unit-Kinetic) may optionally have them. These interfaces allow the power cables that transfer energy between the two systems to be properly connected.
- The ESME must have mandatory interfaces for connecting ERS-K Phase Conductors
- The MGU-K may optionally have interfaces for these same connections
- These interfaces are the physical connection points that allow energy transfer between ERS components
- Proper interfaces ensure safe and regulated power flow in the hybrid power system
Official FIA Text
Interfaces must be present on the ESME and may be present on the MGU-K to allow the connection of the ERS-K Phase Conductors between the ESME and the MGU-K.
