In Simple Terms
The fuel tank can have holes in it, but the total size of all openings can't exceed 35,000mm². Small circular holes (less than 35mm across) can be sealed with a fitting that's held down with a single bolt.
- Maximum combined aperture area in fuel bladder is 35,000mm²
- Small circular openings under 35mm diameter can use simple bolt-secured fittings
- Fittings must be secured with a single threaded fastener across the full opening diameter
- Prevents fuel leakage and ensures fuel system safety during races

The total area of apertures in the fuel bladder must not exceed 35 000mm². Circular apertures smaller than 35mm diameter may be closed with a fitting, secured with a single threaded fastener on the full diameter of the opening.
