Camera installation notification

Chapter: C8

In Simple Terms

F1 teams need to know well in advance about any changes to where cameras and transponders are installed on their cars. The FIA must tell teams about these changes by June 30th of the year before they take effect, giving teams plenty of time to prepare and adjust their designs accordingly.

  • Teams must receive notification of camera or transponder installation changes by June 30 of the previous season
  • This ensures teams have adequate time to engineer and prepare for new technical requirements
  • Changes affect both camera systems (for broadcasting) and transponder systems (for tracking and timing)
  • The rule promotes transparency and fairness by preventing surprise technical modifications
Official FIA Text

F1 Teams must be notified of any changes to the camera or transponder installation instructions before 30 June of the previous season.
