Interpretation
Chapter: ARTICLE D1: GENERAL PRINCIPLES
In Simple Terms
The Financial Regulations are their own complete set of rules and shouldn't be interpreted by comparing them to other countries' laws. If there's ever a dispute about what these rules mean, French law will be used to settle it.
- Financial Regulations stand alone as an independent document
- Rules should not be interpreted by referencing external national laws or statutes
- French law governs how the regulations are understood and applied
- This ensures consistent, uniform interpretation across all teams and jurisdictions
Official FIA Text
These Financial Regulations must be interpreted as an independent and autonomous text and not by reference to existing law or statutes in any particular jurisdiction. These Financial Regulations shall be governed by and construed in accordance with French law.
