Article D12.5.1
Payment of Financial Penalty
Chapter: D12
In Simple Terms
When F1 teams or drivers are fined, they have 30 days to pay the penalty from when the decision is made. However, if they appeal the fine, they don't have to pay it right away—they only pay if they lose the appeal.
- Fines must be paid within 30 days of the official decision
- Payment deadline can be adjusted if there's a valid reason
- If an appeal is filed, payment is paused until the appeal is resolved
- Payment only becomes due after appeal outcome if the fine is upheld
Official FIA Text
