When the Cost Cap Administration believes a team has broken the spending rules, they send the case to a special panel called the Cost Cap Adjudication Panel. This panel holds a hearing to examine the evidence and then makes an official decision on whether the team actually violated the rules.
- The Cost Cap Administration refers cases to the Adjudication Panel when they suspect rule violations
- The panel conducts a formal hearing to review the evidence and arguments from all parties
- The panel then issues a binding decision on whether the team broke cost cap regulations
- This is the official process for determining if financial penalties should be applied
