Hearing and Decision Following Referral

Chapter: D9

In Simple Terms

When the Cost Cap Administration believes a team has broken the spending rules, they send the case to a special panel called the Cost Cap Adjudication Panel. This panel holds a hearing to examine the evidence and then makes an official decision on whether the team actually violated the rules.

  • The Cost Cap Administration refers cases to the Adjudication Panel when they suspect rule violations
  • The panel conducts a formal hearing to review the evidence and arguments from all parties
  • The panel then issues a binding decision on whether the team broke cost cap regulations
  • This is the official process for determining if financial penalties should be applied
