Judging Panel Decision Requirements

Chapter: D9

In Simple Terms

When the FIA's judging panel makes a decision on a rule breach, they either all agree (unanimous) or make a majority decision with the President breaking any tie. Whatever they decide must be written down in English, explaining why they made that choice, what penalties apply, and confirming the team understood what they need to do to comply.

  • Decisions require unanimous agreement or majority vote with President as tiebreaker
  • All decisions must be documented in English with detailed reasoning
  • Decisions must specify any costs and sanctions imposed for rule breaches
  • Compliance statements confirm teams understand what they must do to follow the ruling
Official FIA Text

Decisions are unanimous or by majority vote with President casting vote if deadlocked, in English, stating reasons, costs, specified sanctions if breach found, and compliance statement if applicable.
