First Ever F1 World Championship Race
Giuseppe Farina won the inaugural F1 race, driving an Alfa Romeo 158. King George VI and Queen Elizabeth watched from the royal box as 21 cars lined up on a converted RAF airfield.
Jody Scheckter Incident
Massive first-lap pile-up caused by Scheckter at Woodcote, involving 11 cars. Andrea de Adamich suffered leg injuries and never raced again. Led to major safety improvements.
Mansell vs Piquet
Nigel Mansell's famous pass on teammate Nelson Piquet at Stowe corner with 2 laps to go, driving with a cramp. One of the most celebrated overtakes in British GP history.
Hamilton's Wet Weather Masterclass
