Conditions for ABA Entry

Chapter: D8

In Simple Terms

Before a team member can settle a rule breach with the FIA through an Agreed Breach Agreement (ABA), they must admit to the violation, fully explain what happened, accept whatever punishment is given, pay any associated costs, and give up their right to fight the decision in court or appeal it.

  • The team member must openly admit to breaking the rules
  • They must provide complete and honest information about the breach
  • They must accept the penalties without the ability to appeal or challenge them later
  • They are responsible for paying all costs related to the agreement
Official FIA Text

The Cost Cap Administration may only enter into an ABA where the Individual F1 Team Member accepts breach, confirms full disclosure, accepts imposed sanctions, agrees to bear costs, and waives their right to appeal or challenge the ABA.
